Nick Willmore, director of SCORE Nick Willmore (Director)
Nick has been involved in social work since 1985, qualifying in 1991. He is currently working in services for adults as an independent social worker and project manager. Previously he worked in child protection, with an interest in networks and organisation-based abuse. Following a career in local authorities as a team and service manager, he joined the Audit Commission in 2001 as a performance specialist. This was when he first came into contact with the newly-created GSCC, whilst co-ordinating the registration of social workers in the Commission. Nick left in 2005 to set up his own company to provide social work services directly to the public. He is committed to improving the profile and practice standards in social care, so as to ensure people get the best possible support from us, the social workers, when they need it.

Dee Colam, DirectorDee Colam (Director)
Dee commenced her career in social work in 1974 and, following time out to raise her family, returned to her chosen career in 1985. She qualified in 1990 and was appointed Assistant Manager for an elderly and physically disabled services division in Lancashire. With the creation of arm's length Inspection Units, Dee chose to specialise and became an Inspector of Adult Services, moving to Bury in 1996 as Senior Inspector for Children's Services. Her next post was as Chief Inspector for Leeds Social Services, and was then appointed in 2000 as Regional Director for NCSC (North East and Yorkshire & Humberside). She now works as an independent social care management consultant and, as a former regulator, understands the importance of supporting a high-quality workforce to raise standards in service delivery, and the profile of social work as a profession.
